What does it mean for a church to call itself organic? If organic’s main emphasis is that it be real, natural, and living, then a church that is truly organic is the opposite of synthetic, augmented, manufactured, engineered, institutional.

The church that is an institution exists for itself. That church says, "Come to us." The church that is an organic movement exists to send its members into the world with life. The organic church doesn’t live one day a week, inside the walls of a building. The church that is organic lives to connect a living Creator with his creation—to tranform culture with the news of a living God.
